Make this hearty down-home cabbage peppers & smoked sausage dish for your family. Healthy, hearty, and packed full of delicious flavor.


  • 1 Whole Head Of Cabbage

  • 1 Smoked Rope Sausage

  • 1 Large Bell Pepper Chopped

  • 1 Tbspn Thyme

  • 1 Tbspn Chopped Basil

  • 1 Tbspm Minced Garlic

  • 1 Tspn Salt

  • 1 Tspn Ground Black Pepper

  • 1 Tbspn Badia Complete Seasoning


  • Rinse and chop your cabbage, bell pepper, and smoked sausage and add to a large pot or stockpot.
  • Next, add just enough water to cover to just under the top of the cabbage
  • Add all of your seasonings, chopped basil and thyme.
  • Bring to a boil and then cover and let simmer for about 3 hours.
  • That’s it. Serve with a nice warm bread or cornbread to make it a meal.


  • For optional flavor, you can add a little diced jalapeno or banana peppers to your dish. For a vegan option, just replace the sausage with your favorite vegetable.
